🤔 Problem

How might we help companies looking to effectively report their environmental, social and governance data?

The platform is a tool to help companies show how they interact with people and the planet through ESG management. A one-stop shop for ESG needs, the platform helps companies govern and manage their data, report to various frameworks and surveys and benchmark their performance against their industry.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Users and target audience

The users and target audience were companies looking to report their ESG data through various frameworks or manage their ESG ratings. This is prompted by various stakeholders within their company, be they C-suite or investors. The user base was across the world, given the need for ESG, with particular emphasis on Europe given regulation needs. This meant a great emphasis on accessibility and inclusivity in design.

Through our team talking with customers, we understood that the user goals and needs ranged from people deeper in their ESG journey, and therefore wanting automation, efficiency and leveraging AI; to people who have just started their ESG journey, knowing little about the space and best practices and wanting to learn more and find processes that work for them.

👨🏾‍💻 Role

As the principal product design hire, my role and responsibilities were very broad, ranging from product manager/owner responsibilities to product design responsibilities. During my time, I worked closely with all stakeholder groups within the company, which included the CEO, sales, operations and engineering. My responsibilities included:

• Define product vision

• Form product roadmap (alongside CEO) and PRDs

• Connect all stakeholder groups around the product

• Understand user/market needs

• UX Design

• Visual design

• Interaction design

• Prototyping

• Design system management

• Content and marketing support
